Strachans was founded in 1939 and grew to become one of the UK’s leading independent, family owned distributors of Food and Chandlery Supplies to the Offshore & Marine Industry prior to Wrist Ship Supply acquiring the business in May 2011. The company is still headed up by James Strachan who continues to build on the strong foundations laid by his Father and Grandfather. Today, Strachans operates out of three Distribution Centres in Peterhead, Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth and is now servicing customers both nationally and internationally.
Strachans have a proven track record in food distribution and, at the same time, a forward looking outlook in terms of staff, equipment and facilities. Flexibility is the key to the company’s approach to its customers and its operation.
